  • Abstract Computer simulation was used to predict the effects on urban microclimate of increasing the height of existing buildings in Tel Aviv. The nocturnal urban heat island is expected to intensify and wind speed to be reduced, thus reducing the potential for free cooling in summer-but annual energy consumption is not increased in fully air conditioned buildings.
