  • The dynamic yield and tensile strength of two high-strength high-temperature superalloys Inconel IN738LC and PWA 1483 have been studied in planar impact experiments at test temperatures ranged from 25°C to 680°C. Both the alloys exhibit abrupt increase of the dynamic yield strength within the temperature interval from about 500°C to 600°C. The dynamic tensile strength of the alloys is found less sensitive to the temperature and shows less pronounced anomaly. Most probably the observed non-monotonous variations of dynamic mechanical properties are caused by the structural rearrangement starting in the alloys in the vicinity of 550°C.
