  • Methods: This single-center prospective observational study screened every adult patient admitted to a public referral hospital in Rwanda for hypoxemia for four weeks. For every patient with an oxygen saturation< 90% or receiving oxygen, we collected data on demographics and ARDS risk factors. We evaluated these patients for ARDS using pulse oximetry, ultrasound, and chest radiograph when available.
