  • In this study we use a reactive ion-pair approach in order to derive approximate limiting laws for ionic activities of strong electrolytes. For point charges we get a general activity law that yields the Debye–Huckel limiting law (ln  γ ± =− αc 1/2 ) at infinite dilution and the quasi lattice cubic-root law (ln  γ ± =− βc 1/3 ) in the high concentration limit.
