  • A solar furnace that produces temperatures as high as 25008C is used to generate new hybrid fullerene-like nanostructures of MoS2. As JM Gordon, R. Tenne, and coworkers describe in their Communication on pa ge 18 10 ff., these particles are comprised of a nanoscale octahedral core with a smooth transition to quasi-spherical outer shells, and their structures were confirmed by modeling studies.
