  • To abstain power consumption, pipe wear and product degradation in pneumatic conveying systems many factors are needed to investigate. In different zones of pneumatic conveying pipeline there are specific periods and distances where particles start to accelerate or deaccelerate from specific velocity to steady state velocity. During this distance, there will be an additional loss of energy that is attributed to the acceleration pressure drop. Experiments have been conducted by using different types of materials (Bottom ash, Glass beads, Plastic beads, Sand, Semolina etc.). Particles have different shape, size and mass flow rate. Materials have been conveyed through 55-meter-long steel pipeline having pipe diameter of 50.8 mm. Particles have fed through a screw feeder.
