  • Salvage excavations were carried out at the site of Tell Abu-Matar in the Hatzerim neighborhood, a new building project in western Beer Sheva, on the northern bank of of Nahal Beer Sheva, between 23.1. 90 and 4.4. 91. The excavations were conducted under the auspices of the Israel Antiquities Authority, and directed by Isaac Gilead and Steven Rosen, of the Archaeological Division of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, and Peter Fabian, from the Antiquities Authority. An additional season was carried out between 28.7. 91 and 9.8. 91, serving as the study dig of the Archaeological Division of Ben-Gurion University, directed by Isaac Gilead and Steve Rosen. Ofra Bar-Gil, Dan Rabin, Etti Marelli and Alex JofTe were the field supervisors.
