  • Materials and methods: After approval of the Animal Care Committee, spontaneously breathing 24 male Sprague Dawley rats weighing 200–300 g were anesthetized with 2% isoflurane and a cranial impact of 0.5 J was delivered by a rod. Rats were injected intravenously for a total duration of 30 min with OxAc (30μmoles/min/100 g). Blood G levels following a traumatic brain injury. G levels are expressed as the% of the basal G levels measured before TBI. The results are presented as mean±standard error of the mean (n= 13).
