  • Abstract Incident ions carry the energy and momentum. Ion dynamics is governed by the macroscopic electric and magnetic field in the shock front. On the other hand, the magnetic profile of the shock is affected by the ion pressure. Most ions are directly transmitted. However, a small part of incident ions are reflected even at low-Mach number shocks.
