  • The first demonstration of a DNA-based molecular machine constructed from two DNA origami tiles is presented on page 568. E. Nir and co-workers connected two tiles to create a track on which a bipedal DNA walker travels back and forth with an operational yield similar to that of a motor striding on a single origami tile. This demonstrates the feasibility of dynamic DNA molecular machines that are made of more than a single origami building block. The formation of the origami track and the motor operation yield are monitored using single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy.
