abstract

  • Using luminaires based on the compound elliptical and compound hyperbolic concentrators of nonimaging optics, extremely uniform illuminance on distant targets can be achieved by utilizing pair-overlap flux maps. Such luminaires would also ensure maximal lighting efficiency (no trapped radiation), excellent angular (glare) control of radiation, and minimal sensitivity to errors in luminaire spacing.
