  • Psychotherapy integration is an intellectual/professional movement within the mental health field whose aim is to transcend the various “large psychotherapy schools”(eg, cognitive behavioral, psychodynamic, experiential, family systems) by encouraging the exploration of integrative forms of treatment. In this entry, an illustrative clinical example and review of relevant aspects of the field are presented, including a brief history of the field, currently available models, the prevalence of integrative practice, research findings, multicultural dimensions, training, and future challenges.
