  • During the last decade, multiple architectures for the design and implementation of agent- based systems have been proposed. Surveys on these architectures (eg,[2]) emphasize the layered architecture as the one that was widely accepted by researchers. Layered architectures are, to a large extent, the result of studying hybrid architectures. Those studies attempted to marry the best aspects of both deliberative and reactive approaches to agents. Multiple layered architectures were proposed during the last decade (eg, InterRap [4], TuringMachines [1]). As these architectures were developed to support complex structures of agent intelligent activity, most of them concentrated on separation between different levels of behavior and deliberation.
