  • Nuclear-Factor-κB (NF-κB) is a transcription factor and a major regulator of inflammation and immune processes in several pathologies. We have previously reported over-expression of NF-κB classical subunits p65 and p50 in tonsils of children with OSAS. In addition, incubation of several cell lines with serum from OSAS children induces NF-κB activation and its translocation to the nucleus. In order to investigate NF-kB activation and the physiology of cardiomyocytes of human origin, we have established an ex-vivo model where human cardiomyocytes derived from human embryonic stem cells were incubated with OSAS and control sera.
