  • A unidirectional pulse (UDP) produced by model of an excitable medium stimulated with a specific spatially asymmetric current, was investigated. The importance of the UDP for a possible mechanism for pinpointing the reentry cycle position and for a possible use in tachycardia suppression was discussed. These waves were constructed either for the purpose of potential use in logic operations of computing devices or for the purpose of explaining the reentry mechanism. The feasibility of obtaining a unidirectional propagation pulse in an excitable medium by judicious choice of the shape of the input current triggering pulse was shown.
