  • Falling ball viscometry experiments were carried out for three polymer solutions. The data were analyzed following eight different methods available in the literature for obtaining the zero-shear-rate viscosity. It is concluded that the procedures involving extrapolation of the natural logarithm of the apparent viscosity to zero characteristic shear stress is the most reliable technique for obtaining an estimate of the zero-shear-rate viscosity.
