  • Abstract A method for the analysis of nonlinear magnetoacoustic waves in a collisionless plasma in a strong magnetic field with allowance for finite Larmor-radius effects is proposed. Nonlinear equations for parallel and perpendicular waves are derived. Particular attention is given to the case of the electron-positron plasma of a pulsar magnetosphere.
