- The applicability of melt-textured YBCO materials for fabrication of a HTSC switch controlled by a magnetic field is studied experimentally. A magnetic field pulse is applied to the HTSC sample in the direction of a transport current. The pulse initiates the switching but a pronounced resistance appears as a result of thermal processes. The dependence of the switching time up to the normal state on a transport current and a control pulse is investigated. With an increase of the amplitude or duration of the control pulse, the snitching time is reduced and becomes less than 1 ms.
