  • The standard military model for infrared target detection is the Center for Night Vision and Electro-Optics (CNVEO) target acquisition model.1 This model of thermal image performance relates the sensitivity of the sensor, the contrast of the target, and the transmission of the atmosphere to the probability of detection, recognition, and identification.
