Bar-Gera, Hillel

Positions

Hillel Bar-Gera is an associate professor at the department of Industrial Engineering and Management at Ben-Gurion University. In addition, he is the chair of BGU’s Center for Integrative Transportation Innovation (CITI). His degrees are from the Hebrew University (BSc, MSc) and the University of Illinois at Chicago (PhD). He is a member of the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). His activities in the Transportation Research Board (TRB) include: co-chair of the joint subcommittee on speed and safety, editorial board member of the committee on transportation network modeling, and a member of the committee on safety data, analysis and evaluation. His research on traffic safety and transportation systems combines quantitative methods, large scale dataset analysis, simulator studies, and field experiments. He is a member of the editorial board of Transportation Research Part B, Networks and Spatial Economics, and the International Journal of Transportation Science & Technology.
